Printers

A Realm Linux workstation has the ability to use the campus Wolfcopy printers, just as a Solaris machine does. The use of those printers is identical in Linux to their use in Solaris. To set the default printer for the system, simply place the name of the print queue in the file /etc/rc.conf.d/HostPrinter, just as you would in Solaris.

For faculty and staff machines, there is the added ability to use local printers (i.e. attached to the parallel port) on a Realm Linux machine. To set up local printing, simply follow the instructions on printing in the Red Hat Getting Started Guide.
